Large corporations like Microsoft and privacy are things that don't go well together. You can be sure the Windows operating systems has plenty of features which provide other people with information about your habits on a computer. If you want more control over what the system can or can't do, then WPD is the solution you need. It provides you with a handy dashboard, on which you can enable and disable all sorts of features in your system.

The application is absolutely free and you can run in right away, without going through an installation process. It works on all modern Windows platforms, though it seems to be developed for Windows 10. There are no special requirements you have to meet and you don't need powerful hardware to run the application.

You can find options for controlling privacy features, the firewall and apps, as well as a few options for miscellaneous tweaks. These categories can be accessed in separate sections of the user interface, which can be accessed instantly from a home page or via navigation tabs.

WPD provides you with numerous on/off switches for all sorts of features. For example, you can toggle error reporting, data throttling, inventory collection and many other services. It is also possible to disable Windows updates, something that Microsoft really likes to shove down our throats lately. Additionally, you can disable third party apps and Windows telemetry.

One of the aspects of Windows 10 that doesn't stay particularly good with some people is the Store and all its useless and redundant apps. If you want to get rid of them, you can do it in the Uninstall section on WPD's interface. Furthermore, if you decide to keep some of the apps, you can make a few tweaks to prevent them from certain things you may not agree with you. For example, you can prevent apps from using your webcam or microphone.

If you value your privacy, you can use WPD to take full control over what Windows can or can not do.

Pros

You can toggle numerous Windows features on and off. Regardless of what you wish to turn on or off, you only need to click a series of simple switches. All switches are well organized and easy to find.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to mention.
